so is feedback.
if you are being asked to give more than 0$ it means I have ran out of free download credits. don't worry, bandcamp will
provide more soon.
if however you really need to have this music on your hard drive even sooner than that a quick search on the internet will lead you to several sites offering the album for free and even paid versions (if you're boycoting bandcamp or whatever).
I am not responsible for any teleological, metaphysical or political interpretations of the material your deviant minds might devise, nor do I know what the album sounds like when played backwards. If you derive any meaning from the lyrics or titles to these tracks do so at your own risk. If you derive any meaning from the sounds on these tracks you should see a doctor.
If there is any subtext to the music, this is it:
1. Into the grey and pink
Title Reference: Caravan's best album.
Context: Written in Dunfermline as chamber music. This is the "rock" version.
2. Why can't we write like normal people?
Title reference: Primer (the movie).
Context: Time travel is really hard to write about. Special thanks to Shane Carruth.
3. Change Agent
Title reference: Work.
Context: Work.
4.Anti-Social Smoker
Title reference: Opposite of a "social smoker".
Context: Apparently if you go out for a smoke and do not immediately join some people you barely know to have some bullshit conversation you're "anti-social".
5. PB, no J
Title reference: Breakfast.
Context: There might be a perfect combination of jelly and peanut butter out there, but so far, for me, it hasn't lived up to the expectations drawn from popular culture. Research needed.
6. Random by Design
Title reference: Rationalist theology.
Context: Originally a backing track (go figure), features my first organ solo. Great fun. So much so that I followed with a guitar solo. It's probable that the fun of the player will not perfectly translate to the listener.
7. Coming together
Title reference: Having a Beatles reference is always fun (at least until the copyright lawyers get involved, then it's super fun).
Context: Sex.
8. Can of Worms
Title Reference: Odd outburst by a co-worker.
Context: none.
9. Afternoon delight tonight
Title reference: Arrested Development (the show).
Context: Sex again. The song existed before in acoustic, stripped down version and was more melancholic. It used to be called "Life is worth losing", which of course is a reference to George Carlin).
